Sequel to Super Mario called The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the original Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment have officially announced the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which is set to hit theaters in April 2026.
This sequel to 2023’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie brings back directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, along with writer Matthew Fogel. The voice cast will see familiar faces returning, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Jack Black as Bowser, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
While plot details for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are currently under wraps, the title will surely resonate with fans of the beloved video game series, as Super Mario Galaxy launched on the Nintendo Wii in 2007.
The film is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2026.
