Star Wars makes its comeback to theaters with a trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu.
Disney and Lucasfilm have unveiled the initial teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu," the feature film stemming from the popular Star Wars series "The Mandalorian."
This film follows the third season of "The Mandalorian," where bounty hunter Din Djarin and his foundling Grogu are reunited after assisting Mandalorian rebels and the Children of the Watch clan in reclaiming their home planet of Mandalore from the remnants of the Imperial forces.
Directed by Jon Favreau, with a script co-written by him and Dave Filoni, the movie will depict Djarin and Grogu being recruited to aid the New Republic in a mission against the Empire as they strive to restore their former power. Notably, sci-fi icon Sigourney Weaver will join the Star Wars universe as a New Republic pilot who supports Djarin in this endeavor.
With the Empire dethroned, Imperial warlords remain scattered across the galaxy. As the nascent New Republic seeks to safeguard the victories won by the Rebellion, they have called upon the famed Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu for assistance.
"The Mandalorian and Grogu" stars Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, Jonny Coyne, and Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt. The film is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
