Pamela Anderson is producing a TV series based on Barb Wire.
With her comeback in full effect, Pamela Anderson is preparing to revisit one of her earlier projects, this time in a producing role. According to Deadline, the former Baywatch star is collaborating with her sons, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee, to produce a Barb Wire TV series under their new company, Ander-Her-Sons Productions.
Barb Wire, created by Chris Warner and published by Dark Horse Comics, centers on Barbara Kopetski, a notorious bounty hunter operating in Steel Harbor, a city rife with drugs, gang conflicts, crime, and pollution in an alternate-history Earth.
Anderson portrayed Barb Wire in the 1996 film directed by David Hogan, which, despite being a critical and commercial disappointment, gained a cult following. The film, which is set to be released on 4K Ultra HD next month, was produced by Dark Horse Entertainment, who is also partnering with Anderson for the new TV adaptation. Although development is in the very early stages, the series is reported to have “a different feel” compared to the movie and is being positioned as the first project from Ander-Her-Sons.
Additionally, Pamela Anderson has recently starred in the successful comedy The Naked Gun, marking her second consecutive triumph following her well-received comeback in last year’s The Last Showgirl. Her future projects include the Michael Cera-directed Love Is Not the Answer, Queen of the Falls by Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia, and Sally Potter’s Alma.
