A new gameplay trailer has been released, announcing the release date for the Halloween-themed video game.
During this year's PlayStation State of Play conference, IllFonic and Gun Interactive announced that the asymmetric stealth horror game, Halloween, is set to be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 8, 2026. A new trailer showcasing some eerie gameplay has been released, which can be viewed below.
This homage to John Carpenter’s iconic 1978 film is an asymmetric horror game in which players can take on the role of either a helpless civilian or the notorious Michael Myers. With both single-player and multiplayer modes available, players will navigate the dark suburban streets of Haddonfield, aiming to either survive or eliminate their opponents.
As a Civilian, players are tasked with safeguarding the townspeople by escorting them to safety, locating weapons and supplies, and finding the crucial telephone to alert the police. Meanwhile, the player handling Myers will lurk in the shadows, utilizing frightening abilities to navigate the area unnoticed and eliminate targets.
The newly released trailer showcases Michael Myers’ Shape Jump ability, allowing him to move stealthily, avoiding detection by Civilians to position himself effectively for a kill.
Selected Civilians will need to be wary of hidden dangers lurking around every corner, and their chances of surviving until the police arrive will hinge on strategy, collaboration, and quick decision-making.
“Our aim is to elevate the horror experience with both single and multiplayer modes, allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the game,” stated Jared Gerritzen, CCO of IllFonic. “Whether they take on the role of the boogeyman or strive to protect the victims of Michael Myers, Halloween guarantees a memorable confrontation filled with fear and survival.”
Stay tuned for more updates regarding Halloween as its release date next September approaches.
