Survival horror game Dead Format releases a playable demo.
Katanalevy, the solo developer, alongside publisher Oro Interactive, has announced the release of a playable demo for their upcoming survival horror game, Dead Format, on Steam. This demo allows players to experience two eerie worlds and confront various threats. Check out the new trailer celebrating this demo's launch, provided below.
Dead Format transports players to 1990s Scotland, where they assume the role of a sibling searching for their brother who has vanished after becoming fixated on enigmatic VHS tapes. Each tape draws inspiration from iconic film eras, requiring players to immerse themselves in these cinematic realms, battle the dangers lurking within, and ultimately find their missing brother. The demo offers players a chance to explore two of these chilling VHS tapes that feature a 30s silent horror and 80s body horror theme.
After navigating each twisted world, players can return to their apartment, their sole sanctuary. This space allows them to pause, reflect, and examine clues that may assist in locating their brother.
This demo gives players a hint of the horror that awaits, featuring:
Two malevolent worlds to navigate.
Genuine, original VHS footage designed to unsettle players.
The apartment serves as a place to analyze clues and begin unraveling the mystery of their brother's absence.
Beware of the terrifying threats lurking in the darkness and solve intricate puzzles that stand in the way of survival.
The playable demo for Dead Format is now available on Steam.
