Check out Jonny Greenwood’s remarkable score for One Battle After Another.

      The long-anticipated day has finally arrived. Paul Thomas Anderson's grand masterpiece, One Battle After Another, is now in theaters, including screenings in 70mm IMAX and VistaVision formats, marking the debut of the year's most impressive score. Continuing their successful collaboration, Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead has partnered once again with the director to provide a driving, intense score that spans 49 minutes over 18 tracks, which is now available for streaming. Interestingly, the two tracks by Jon Brion from the film have yet to be released, but it is hoped they will be available in the future.

      In David Katz's review, he noted, “Political urgency, contemporary cultural debates, and unabashedly enthusiastic espionage personnel: these are the themes Anderson embraces in One Battle After Another. On my initial viewing, I found it to be a mostly exhilarating populist action film that showcases some of his most impressive cinematic style and structured, coherent storytelling, though it lacks the dark beauty and depth found in his finest works. The characters we’re meant to champion are appropriately inspiring; the antagonists are despicable white-supremacist thugs (dressed in both executive suits and camouflage); the moral lines are sometimes as clear as those in Star Wars, which Anderson seems to adapt with care (even referencing martial arts). However, what allows it to effectively resonate as a spirited (and hopefully appealing) commercial film lies in its grasp of these narrative elements and the efficient movement of its storytelling machinery, propelling the plot along the loop-de-loop desert roads.”
