Softstar Entertainment has announced their upcoming first-person horror game, Junji Ito Maniac: An Infinite Gaol. Based on the anime series Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre, this new horror title will be available on Steam for PC. A brief trailer is available below, offering a glimpse at the terrifying settings and eerie atmosphere.

In Junji Ito Maniac: An Infinite Gaol, players assume the role of a college student suffering from amnesia, who wakes up in a western-style mansion. Disturbed and with just a broken smartphone and fragmented memories to help decipher their situation, players must explore their environment, reconstruct their memories, and seek a possible escape.

The mansion is replete with bizarre statues, concealed traps, and various dangers and phenomena, including floating balloon heads and creeping, uncontrollable black hair. What ominous secrets does the mansion conceal, and is there a way to break free from this endless cycle of horror?

Junji Ito Maniac: An Infinite Gaol includes classic characters from Junji Ito’s works and accurately replicates scenes from the anime, enhancing immersion in Ito’s unique horror style. All character movements in the game have been captured from professional actors who have adapted their natural motions to create more otherworldly and grotesque actions, fitting the game's tone perfectly for a Junji Ito experience.

Players can currently try out a demo of this immersive horror on Steam.
