Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown releases a playable demo.

      Daedalic Entertainment has launched a new playable demo for Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown on Steam. This forthcoming story-driven survival strategy game will let players take command of the U.S.S. Voyager during the initial phase of its journey back to the Alpha Quadrant.

      In the demo, players will assume the role of the captain and explore all the game’s fundamental systems, ranging from decision-making to exploring hypothetical scenarios. They will have the chance to repair and customize the ship, investigate the sector, embark on away missions, and participate in ship-to-ship combat. Most importantly, players will get a first glimpse at the beginning of the narrative.

      If you ever believed you could outperform Captain Janeway in getting the ship and crew home, then Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown appears to be the ideal game for you to test that theory. You can control the U.S.S. Voyager according to your preferences, experiment with those hypothetical situations you've often considered, even if it comes at the expense of other species in the quadrant. You can opt for diplomatic methods like Janeway frequently did, or charge through the quadrant with all phasers firing.

      Following the Caretaker’s initial relocation of the Voyager to the Delta Quadrant, there were numerous repairs and reconstruction tasks to tackle, with no shipyard available for assistance. Take on the challenge of repairing and reconstructing ship systems, crew quarters, industrial and research facilities, and more. Engage in research projects that were overlooked by the TV series, from technology that enhances crew morale to riskier endeavors, such as studying Borg systems.

      When it comes to away missions and ship combat, it’s up to you to decide how to approach each scenario. You can choose between a scientific and diplomatic path or dive headfirst into peril. Just keep in mind that every action has repercussions, and not all characters may make it back home.
