Neon has unveiled a new trailer for their highly praised drama The Secret Agent, which has captivated festival audiences with its tale of political intrigue featuring Wagner Moura (Civil War). Chosen by Brazil as their entry for Best International Feature Film at the upcoming Academy Awards, The Secret Agent is directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho (Bacurau) and also stars Maria Fernanda Cândido, Gabriel Leone, Alice Carvalho, Hermila Guedes, Carlos Francisco, Robério Diógenes, Hermila Guedes, and Udo Kier. Check out the stylish new poster and trailer below…

"During the vibrant yet tumultuous Carnival week in 1977, a widower named Marcelo (Wagner Moura) arrives in Recife, Brazil, a city full of life but also marked by violence. As a technology researcher, he unexpectedly becomes a target amidst the political chaos of the dictatorship, forcing him to flee from mercenary killers, his haunting past, and the aggressive, mischievous spirit of Brazil at that time. With rising threats, Marcelo, aided by a mysterious woman named Elza and her comrades in the burgeoning underground resistance, is primarily focused on escaping Brazil with his young son. Acclaimed filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho collaborates with celebrated actor Wagner Moura—who delivers a remarkable, career-defining performance—to create a thrillingly unpredictable epic that melds historical elements with a modern feel, paying loving homage to the cinema of Filho’s youth while set against a backdrop of political unrest and imminent danger."

The Secret Agent will be released in theaters on November 26th.
