New audio experiences featuring the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith are set to arrive at Big Finish in March 2026 with Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor Adventures – The Ministry of Death. This full-cast box set stars Tom Baker and Sadie Miller as the Doctor's cherished companion, Sarah Jane.

The Ministry of Death marks the first of three newly produced box sets of full-cast audio dramas planned for 2026, all set during Season 13 of Classic Who. This release includes two new tales for the time travelers and will also appeal to fans of UNIT and the Brigadier, played by Jon Culshaw.

The box set opens with The Ministry of Death, a four-part adventure written by Robert Valentine. When the Brigadier and Harry Sullivan (Christopher Naylor) utilize the Space-Time Telegraph to summon the Doctor, they anticipate an unusual encounter. What they uncover is a peculiar death—an electronics specialist struck by lightning in his office. As they delve deeper, they find more bizarre deaths and soon the Doctor realizes a wild scheme of vengeance is in motion.

Moving on to the two-part story, The Inhuman Empire by Phil Mulryne, Sarah Jane is approached by an old acquaintance aware of her fascination with strange occurrences and requests her assistance to probe into unusual events at the National Museum. Sarah agrees, bringing the Doctor along, but they quickly discover that the museum is harboring aliens familiar to the Doctor. They must race against time to thwart these aliens before they threaten all of humanity.

The Fourth Doctor Adventures: The Ministry of Death is currently available for pre-order on the Big Finish website, priced at £19.99 for the download, or £24.99 for both the download and the limited collector’s edition box set. Bundles for all Fourth Doctor releases in 2026 are also on offer.
