Mia Goth, Dan Stevens, and Zach Galifianakis will appear in the 'coming-of-rage' comedy titled Hey Bear.

      Mia Goth, Dan Stevens, and Zach Galifianakis have been cast in the dark comedy Hey Bear, created by Portlandia co-creator Jonathan Krisel.

      This film will mark Krisel's directorial debut, with a script written by Emmy Award-winning writer Carrie Kemper (Beef). According to Deadline, the revenge narrative centers on Claire (Goth), who has always lived her life according to the expectations of others. Married to Gregory (Dan Stevens), she supports his ambition to study bears in Glacier National Park, even though it requires her to spend long periods apart from him. During one of her visits, a grizzly bear, referred to as Mr. Cranky by Gregory, kills him. After being informed by park rangers that Mr. Cranky was euthanized, Claire discovers that the bear has actually been relocated to another national park, where it is thriving. The usually timid Claire resolves to take revenge on the bear. She collaborates with the socially awkward park ranger Putt (Galifianakis) to eliminate Mr. Cranky, though Putt has his own unclear reasons for joining her. Amidst themes of death and truth around every corner, Claire's desperate, grief-driven quest leads her on a transformative journey of empowerment and self-discovery. Set against stunning natural backdrops, this "coming of rage" tale promises a darkly comedic adventure filled with originality and unexpected twists.

      After waiting a long time for a grizzly bear film, two have appeared in quick succession. Hey Bear follows the footsteps of Elizabeth Banks’ comedy Cocaine Bear, which received largely favorable reviews and grossed over $80 million globally in 2023.

      Mia Goth's next project is a significant role in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, while Dan Stevens is currently reprising his role as Travis ‘Trapper’ Beasley in the upcoming Godzilla x Kong: Supernova.
