Actor and filmmaker Jaime Zevallos (Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger) and Nicholas Turturro (Apple TV + Highest 2 Lowest) star in *Vampire For Hire*, a horror-comedy that explores celebrity culture, digital addiction, and the cost of remaining relevant. The short film will be available for free on YouTube this Halloween, serving as the starting point for a broader series.
Zevallos portrays Jim, a former television star known for his role as a vampire in a canceled show—a part that shaped his career and was not entirely fictional. Seeking work, Jim turns to a celebrity-booking app that connects forgotten stars with paid opportunities. However, a lucrative private event spirals into ridiculous chaos as his craving for attention and blood clash.
Turturro appears alongside Zevallos as Stacey, Jim’s quirky best friend and an aspiring vampire, whose unpredictable energy amplifies the story's dark humor. Together, the duo plunges into a realm where entertainment, ego, and possible danger dominate.
The cast also includes Nicholas Turturro III (The Crusades), who adds his comedic talent to the mix. “We are thrilled to be part of this!!! Halloween and laughter are perfect for a family gathering,” commented both Nicholas Turturro and Nicholas Turturro III.
Blending sharp satire with gory comedy, *Vampire For Hire* critiques the cost of fame and the monsters we become in pursuit of relevance. Produced by Zevallos and Marc Chouen, the film combines style, frights, and dark humor while serving as a proof of concept for a series that delves into themes of fame, immortality, and the darker aspects of celebrity culture.
