GKIDS releases a trailer for Little Amélie or the Character of Rain.
GKids has released a trailer for Little Amélie or the Character of Rain, an animated adaptation of Amélie Nothomb’s autobiographical novel The Character of Rain. Directed by Liane-Cho Han Jin Kuang and Maïlys Vallade, the film explores the life of 3-year-old Belgian girl Amélie as she navigates Japan, encountering happiness, tragedy, and human connections along the way.
The film features voice performances by Loïse Charpentier, Victoria Grobois, Laetitia Coryn, Yumi Fujimori, Marc Arnaud, and Emmylou Homs.
For Amélie, the world is a confusing yet serene mystery until a chance meeting with chocolate sparks her adventurous curiosity. As she grows close to her family’s housekeeper, Nishio-san, Amélie learns about the marvels of nature and the emotional realities that lie beneath her family’s seemingly perfect life as expatriates in post-war Japan.
Little Amélie or the Character of Rain will be in theaters on November 7th.
