The Commandos: Origins DLC transports players to Crete.
On November 18th, Kalypso Media and developer Claymore Game Studios will launch Shadows Over Crete, the first DLC for the real-time tactics stealth game Commandos: Origins, where players will send Commandos to Crete. This new campaign will present players with challenges set in the aftermath of the notorious German airborne invasion of Crete during World War II.
In May 1941, Nazi Germany executed the largest airborne operation ever by deploying paratroopers across the sunlit island of Crete. This defeat of the Allies resulted in significant turmoil in the Mediterranean and serves as the backdrop for this new standalone campaign. Players will take command of their Commandos as they navigate enemy territory to ally with the Cretan resistance, led by the brave and steadfast Eleni Andris, embarking on missions involving espionage, sabotage, and guerrilla tactics.
Over four fully voiced missions, players will experience the narrative of the Cretan resistance as the Commandos traverse from coastal villages to ancient ruins, eventually reaching a large harbor city and a fortified island inspired by Spinalonga.
Adding a fresh tactical challenge is the emergence of a new enemy type, the German Paratrooper. These rapid-response units will descend onto the battlefield, compelling players to employ stealth and precision to adapt.
Commandos: Origins – Shadows Over Crete will be available on November 18th for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, and PlayStation 5.
