Roadside Attractions has unveiled a poster and trailer for H is for Hawk, the forthcoming adaptation of Helen Macdonald’s novel of the same title.

Directed by Philippa Lowthorpe, the drama features Helen (Claire Foy) forming an unexpected bond with a determined wild goshawk named Mabel after the passing of her father.

Alongside Claire Foy, the cast includes Brendan Gleeson, Denise Gough, Sam Spruell, and Lindsay Duncan. Check out the trailer below...

H is for Hawk follows Helen (Foy), who, after the abrupt death of her father (Gleeson), immerses herself in the memories of their shared experiences in birdwatching and exploring nature. She turns to the ancient practice of falconry, based in European tradition, by training a wild goshawk named Mabel to help her navigate her deep sorrow. However, as she teaches Mabel to hunt and soar freely, Helen realizes how much she has overlooked her own emotions and life. What starts as a test of endurance evolves into a deeply personal journey of resilience and healing.

H is for Hawk will be released in theaters on January 23rd.
