      Netflix has released a trailer, poster, and images for its forthcoming western drama, The Abandons.

      Set in 1854, the series focuses on the matriarchs of two families—one affluent and the other impoverished—as they become entangled in a conflict over land, intertwining their destinies through two crimes and a forbidden romance.

      The cast features Lena Headey and Gillian Anderson, along with Nick Robinson, Diana Silvers, Lamar Johnson, Natalia del Riego, Lucas Till, Aisling Franciosi, Toby Hemingway, Michael Greyeyes, Patton Oswalt, Brían F. O’Byrne, Clayton Cardenas, Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, Haig Sutherland, Jack Doolan, Jonathan Koensgen, Katelyn Wells, Marc Menchaca, Michiel Huisman, Michael Ornstein, and Sarah Grace White.

      In the Washington Territory of 1854, the matriarchs of two starkly different families—one rich and privileged by lineage, the other a makeshift family of orphans and outcasts united by love and need—find their destinies entwined through two crimes, a terrible secret, a fateful romance, and a piece of land that holds silver beneath its surface. This clash reflects the American divide between the rich and the poor, in a land situated just beyond the reach of justice.

      The Abandons will be available on Netflix starting December 4th.
