Joel Edgerton will star in A24's Trigger Point series for Netflix.

      Netflix has acquired and given a direct-to-series order for Trigger Point, an action thriller produced by A24, featuring Joel Edgerton (Dark Matter) in the lead role.

      Trigger Point centers on "a group of former Tier One Special Forces operatives who utilize their elite skills in the criminal underworld, posing as a private military contracting firm, and the FBI agent on their trail."

      Edgerton will portray Red, one of the ex-special forces operatives turned criminals. The series is characterized as an action drama and will consist of eight episodes.

      Harrison Query (Heads of State) created Trigger Point and will act as the showrunner, while Jeremy Saulnier (Rebel Ridge) is set to direct.

      A24 has been working on this series for quite a while and recently opened it for bids from various studios after Edgerton joined the project. Ultimately, Netflix won the bidding competition and will collaborate with Query and Saulnier, who will serve as executive producers for the series.
