Trailer for the thriller The Dutchman featuring Andre Holland and Kate Mara.
In anticipation of its release this January, a trailer has been unveiled for director Andre Gaines’ forthcoming thriller, The Dutchman.
Inspired by Amiri Baraka’s 1964 award-winning play, the film features Andre Holland as Clay, a successful businessman whose life begins to unravel when he becomes embroiled in a seductive game of cat and mouse with a woman (Kate Mara) he encounters on the subway.
The cast also includes Zazie Beetz, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Aldis Hodge, and Lauren E. Banks. You can watch the trailer below.
“Clay, a prosperous yet troubled Black businessman, attends therapy sessions with his wife, Kaya, in hopes of rescuing their marriage. However, their enigmatic therapist proves to be more than he appears, as he starts to show up unexpectedly in Clay's life outside of their appointments. On a New York subway, Clay meets Lula, a seductive yet ominous white woman who gradually disrupts his world. Clay must uncover the truth behind this unsettling encounter to reconnect with his wife, heal his wounded spirit, and survive the night. This modern take on the 1964 Obie Award-winning play, The Dutchman, adds a contemporary twist to the original, delving into themes of race and identity in America."
The Dutchman is set to hit theaters on January 2nd.
