20 Behind-the-Scenes Photos of Bond Girls
Bond girls are integral to the 007 films, just like James Bond himself. Here’s a look at 20 Bond girls behind the scenes.
Whether working for personal gain, their home countries, or occasionally for James Bond, these women bring intrigue, elegance, and tension to glamorous espionage tales. (We acknowledge that “Bond girls” is an outdated term, but it has become entrenched in movie vernacular — it even has its own Wikipedia page.)
As we await the next Bond film by Dune director Denis Villeneuve, let's reflect on some of the memorable women from previous James Bond movies.

While Sylvia Trench and Miss Taro appeared before her, Honey Ryder, a Jamaican shell diver voiced by Ursula Andress, is often regarded as the first Bond girl.
This is likely due to her unforgettable entrance in Dr. No, emerging from the sea in a white bikini and belt, carrying shells.
Her chemistry with Bond drives the narrative in Dr. No, the film that launched one of cinema's most successful and enduring franchises.
Daniela Bianchi as Tatiana Romanova in From Russia With Love (1963)

In the first Bond sequel, Bond travels to Turkey to assist Soviet consulate clerk Tatiana Romanova, portrayed by Daniela Bianchi, alongside Connery.
Naturally, as with any Bond film, there’s chemistry. However, Tatiana is trapped in a SPECTRE scheme aimed at getting revenge on Bond for events from Dr. No, though she quickly becomes a pivotal figure in the story.
Before becoming renowned as a Bond girl, Bianchi was Miss Universo Italia and the first runner-up at Miss Universe 1960. In 1967, she starred opposite Connery's brother, Neil Connery, in Operation Kid Brother, a Bond parody.
Honor Blackman as Ms. Galore in Goldfinger (1963)

Honor Blackman, rehearsing a notable fight scene with Sean Connery, possesses perhaps the most iconic name among Bond girls — and we’re not entirely sure it’s appropriate to mention here given the sensitivities of our syndication partners.
It’s enough to say that Blackman, known for her role in The Avengers TV series, is among the most legendary Bond girls — a woman capable of holding her own against Bond or anyone else.
Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson in Goldfinger (1964)

Shirley Eaton portrayed Jill Masterson, the aid to the titular villain in Goldfinger. After spending a night with Bond, she faces a cruel fate: being killed through “skin suffocation” after being painted gold.
The striking image of this scene was iconic enough to earn Eaton the cover of LIFE magazine on November 6, 1964.
For those curious, applying that gold paint took approximately 90 minutes, a task managed by makeup artist Paul Rabiger, who also worked on other Bond films like Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, and From Russia With Love.
Claudine Auger as Domino in Thunderball (1965)

Claudine Auger was crowned Miss France Monde in 1958 and was the first runner-up in the Miss World competition that same year before landing the role of Dominique “Domino” Derval in Thunderball, the fourth Bond film.
The chemistry she shared with Sean Connery, both on-screen and off, is evident.
She later appeared in the 1966 World War II film Triple Cross and teamed up with fellow Bond girl Ursula Andress in the 1968 Italian comedy, Anyone Can Play.
Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona Volpe in Thunderball (1965)

As SPECTRE agent Fiona Volpe, Luciana Paluzzi helped define the Bond femme fatale archetype. She is one of the strongest early Bond girls.
Her subsequent roles included portraying a Southern belle in the 1974 film The Klansman—where her voice was dubbed—directed by Thunderball’s Terence Young.
Diana Rigg as Tracy di Vicenzo in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969)

Diana Rigg is arguably the first Bond girl to outshine her co-star in fame: she was already leading in The Avengers when she took the role as Bond’s partner, played by George Lazenby, in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Lazenby, an Australian model, portrayed Bond only once before Connery reprised the role for Diamonds Are Forever.
Rigg is notable for being the only woman to marry Bond — tragically, she was murdered shortly after their wedding, making this film potentially the bleakest in the Bond series.
Nevertheless, Rigg excelled in her numerous post-Bond roles, including as Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones and a
