Superman and Spider-Man collaborate in a new crossover event between DC and Marvel.
Following this year's one-shots featuring Deadpool and Batman, the comic book giants DC and Marvel are preparing for another crossover next year. This event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first DC and Marvel collaboration, 1976’s Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, by reuniting the Man of Steel and the web-slinger in two additional one-shots.
DC Comics’ contribution to this event, Superman/Spider-Man #1, is set to launch in March and will feature eight crossover stories from a roster of prominent creators. Below are the details along with a gallery of variant covers for this release.
When reporters Clark Kent and Peter Parker find themselves after the same story, the conspiracy they uncover could potentially alter the world—especially if Brainiac and Doctor Octopus have their say. (And we suspect they will!) Thankfully, our diligent journalists are secretly Superman and the amazing Spider-Man. To bring this encounter of reporter-turned-heroes to life, Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez join forces to lead the unforgettable main story in DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1.
Additionally, don’t miss these bonus stories in DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1, featuring characters from both DC and Marvel: Tom King and Jim Lee deliver a story about Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson, Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber revisit Superman's friend Jimmy Olsen—and Carnage, Sean Murphy takes us into the future with Superboy (Legion) and Spider-Man 2099, while Gail Simone collaborates with Belén Ortega to explore what occurs when Power Girl meets the Punisher. Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere illustrate a moment when Superboy Prime (who reads all the comics!) visits Spider-Man right after he acquires the black suit, and Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott present an exhilarating race between the Daily Planet and the Daily Bugle.
Moreover, we will finally tackle the classic question of who would win in a fair fight: Pa Kent or Uncle Ben! (Just kidding, those gentlemen are far too kind to battle, but Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval will take us back in time to witness the two men bonding in the face of challenges).
Superman/Spider-Man #1 is scheduled for release on March 25, 2026.
