The new year begins with issue 5919 (Home of Heroes): Braddock: The Flying Tigers, written by Brent Towns and illustrated by Paolo Ongaro. This latest story in the classic Braddock series features the ace pilot and his navigator, George Bourne, who team up with the Flying Tigers of the American Volunteer Group in Burma. Their mission is to persuade the Americans to utilize the latest British fighter-bomber, the de Havilland Mosquito, also known as the Wooden Wonder. However, the Americans doubt the effectiveness of a wooden aircraft against the Japanese, placing the onus on Braddock to prove them wrong.
