Crunchyroll has released a trailer and images for Black Torch, the forthcoming anime series based on Tsuyoshi Takaki's manga of the same name.
The story follows Jiro Azuma, a high school student from a long line of ninjas, who has the unique ability to communicate with animals. However, after discovering an injured cat named Rago in the forest, Jiro becomes entangled in a concealed conflict against dark Japanese spirits, as Rago proves to be far from an ordinary cat. Jiro Azuma is not just any high school student. Coming from a legacy of ninjas, he has been raised by his grandfather in the ancient discipline of shinobi. Additionally, Jiro possesses exceptional skills in communicating with animals. However, his life changes dramatically following an unexpected encounter in the forest with a wounded black cat named Rago.
But Rago is not as simple as he seems…
The seemingly "ordinary" cat is linked to mononoke mythology—the Black Star of Doom!
