The story follows Jiro Azuma, a high school student from a long line of ninjas, who has the unique ability to communicate with animals. However, after discovering an injured cat named Rago in the forest, Jiro becomes entangled in a concealed conflict against dark Japanese spirits, as Rago proves to be far from an ordinary cat.
