Kirsten Dunst teams up with Sydney Sweeney for The Housemaid's Secret.
Sydney Sweeney has secured her new co-star for the upcoming sequel, The Housemaid. According to Deadline, Kirsten Dunst (Roffman) has joined The Housemaid’s Secret alongside the returning Sweeney.
In The Housemaid’s Secret, Millie (Sweeney) returns to take a position as a housekeeper for a woman she has never been permitted to see – only to uncover the truth behind the locked door that harbors secrets much darker than her own.
Paul Feig will direct from a script by Rebecca Sonnenshine, both of whom are returning from the first film. Sweeney and Dunst will be joined by Michele Morrone, who will reprise his role as the gardener and confidante, Enzo.
“It is an honor to bring the next chapter of The Housemaid to the screen with Kirsten Dunst. She is an icon. Her career demonstrates remarkable range and bravery,” stated Erin Westerman, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “Alongside the ever-charismatic Sydney Sweeney, she will bring a dynamic energy to a world where nothing is ever truly as it appears.”
The Housemaid novel and its sequels were authored by Freida McFadden. The Housemaid’s Secret will be produced by Todd Lieberman for Hidden Pictures, with Feig and Laura Fischer producing for their company, Pretty Dangerous Pictures. Sweeney will also produce through Fifty-Fifty Films.
