In the spring of 1794, Poland is in chaos. “Kos” has returned with plans to instigate an uprising against the Russians by rallying both the Polish nobility and peasants. He is aided by his loyal friend and former slave, Domingo (the acclaimed American actor Jason Mitchell – known for his roles in Straight Outta Compton and Mudbound). Following Kościuszko is a merciless Russian captain, Dunin (Robert Więckiewicz), who is determined to capture the general before he ignites a national revolt.
In the meantime, a young peasant named Ignac (Bartosz Bielenia), a noble bastard, aspires to receive a coat of arms and property from his illegitimate father, Duchnowski (Andrzej Seweryn), who includes him in his will shortly before passing away. After his father’s death, Ignac must run from his half-brother Stanisław (Piotr Pacek), who aims to thwart the execution of their father’s will. Ignac steals the will and has only two days to present himself in court to prove his noble status. During his flight, he encounters Domingo. A deep bond forms between them, despite a language barrier. They end up at the manor of the Colonel’s Wife (Agnieszka Grochowska), where Kościuszko is hiding while awaiting talks with the magnates.
Skeptical of Ignac, Kos detains him, but at a critical juncture, the future of the uprising will depend on the unassuming Ignac, who must decide whether to pursue his dream of nobility or align with “Kos” and join him in a fight for the highest stakes.
Scarborn (Kos) is scheduled to be released on April 27th.
