The trailer and poster for the body horror film Thinestra have been released.

      After an acclaimed festival run, Breaking Glass Pictures has unveiled a poster and trailer for Thinestra, a body horror film directed by Nathan Hertz.

      The story follows Penny, a young woman battling body dysmorphia, who starts taking a mysterious weight-loss pill that has terrifying repercussions when the weight she loses manifests as a bloodthirsty doppelgänger.

      Thinestra features Penny (Michelle Macedo), who is haunted by body dysmorphia and the unyielding societal standards of perfection. When she impulsively consumes a mysterious, Ozempic-like weight-loss drug, she undergoes a horrifyingly literal transformation. The fat she loses takes the form of her insatiable doppelgänger, Penelope (Melissa Macedo), leading to chaos.

      Set during a sweltering Christmas in Los Angeles, the film delves into themes of obsession, shame, and desire, turning Penny’s internal conflict into a grotesque and darkly comedic horror experience.
