Blue Film Trailer: Controversial Cambodian Thriller Set to Release This May

Making its world debut at the 2025 Edinburgh International Film Festival and set for its North American premiere at Newfest, Elliot Tuttle’s feature Blue Film has already sparked some controversy due to its potentially taboo themes. Acquired by Obscured Releasing, the film is scheduled for release on May 8, accompanied by the launch of its first trailer.

Here’s a brief summary: “When a fetish camboy (Kieron Moore) meets a client for a $50,000 payment, he encounters a masked man (Reed Birney) armed with a camera and a series of increasingly intimate questions. As the man unveils a disturbing link to Aaron’s past, they shed their façades and slowly expose their genuine desires in a seductive thriller deemed ‘one of the most audacious American films of recent years.’”

“What Elliot achieves in portraying how the sexuality and connection between two men influenced their futures is both humane and startling,” remarked Millard and Guentzler. “He poses questions that no American filmmaker has ventured to explore in decades, and we are excited to introduce Blue Film to theaters.”
