Watch: Robert Pattinson stars in a 1664 commercial directed by Brady Corbet and filmed by Lol Crawley.

      After starting his feature directing career with Robert Pattinson in The Childhood of a Leader, Brady Corbet has reunited with the actor. Between working on The Brutalist and his upcoming X-rated, multi-century drama, Corbet has managed to make ends meet by directing Pattinson in a new advertising campaign for 1664 Blanc, a French beer brand, with cinematography by his regular collaborator Lol Crawley.

      In the advertisement, Pattinson portrays three characters: “a modern minimalist, an avant-garde artist, and an eccentric older ‘dandy,’” according to the official description. “Each character is completely convinced that they represent the peak of good taste. As their worlds intertwine and their confidence intensifies, the tension rises – until one undeniable truth is revealed: 1664 is Unquestionably Good Taste.”

      Pattinson comments, “Collaborating with 1664 has been invigorating because there’s a strong sense of style and humor in the project. I was attracted to the notion of portraying characters who are each utterly convinced they are right. Taste is incredibly personal – everyone believes they have figured it out. The enjoyment of the film lies in witnessing that certain confidence unravel and examining how subjective Good Taste truly is.”

      Corbet adds, “It was a joy to spend a few days creating this film for the fantastic team at 1664, alongside my longtime collaborators Robert Pattinson and Lol Crawley, as well as my excellent team at Magna.”
