The Invitation Trailer: Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton Experience an Unforgettable Evening

      After the challenges of Don’t Worry Darling, Olivia Wilde’s chamber comedy The Invite emerged as one of the most praised premieres at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, and featuring actors such as Seth Rogen, Wilde, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, A24 has announced a release date of June 26, along with the arrival of the first trailer.

      The synopsis reads: “Joe and Angela’s marriage is precarious. When they host their mysterious upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the evening takes unexpected turns. Have they rekindled their passion or set off a chain reaction that leads to disaster?”

      In his Sundance review, Kent M. Wilhelm noted, “While small in scale, it is far greater than the sum of its parts; Wilde directs her quartet of actors to an orchestral performance. She escalates the dramatic tension of a relationship turned volatile due to years of complacency and miscommunication over staccato strings, building towards a climax only to oscillate between highs and lows. With just four main actors, including herself, and a single apartment set, achieving this is a remarkable accomplishment and highlights her growth as an actor-turned-director.”
