Adria Arjona joins the DC Universe in the role of Man of Tomorrow.

      While there is still some uncertainty regarding the details of the character involved, it has been officially announced that Andor actress Adria Arjona is joining the DC Universe with a role in James Gunn’s Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow.

      Arjona has been a popular choice among fans for the role of the rebooted DC Universe's new Diana Prince, and Gunn himself mentioned last year that she would “make a great Wonder Woman.” Reports indicated that she auditioned for a significant female character in the film last week, alongside Eva De Dominici (The Cleaning Lady), Sydney Chandler (Alien: Earth), and Grace Van Patten (Tell Me Lies). Although Gunn referred to those reports as “shoddy & incorrect” at that time, Arjona has now been officially cast, with the confirmation coming at CinemaCon.

      According to industry reports, Arjona will not be playing Wonder Woman but will instead portray Maxima, an alien queen and conqueror known in the comics for her fixation on the Man of Steel, viewing Kal-El as the only man worthy of being her king and companion. As of now, this has yet to be officially confirmed by Gunn or the studio, leaving room for speculation about the potential introduction of a new Amazon Princess.

      Man of Tomorrow is directed by James Gunn and will feature returning Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Maria Gabriella de Faria as The Engineer. Aaron Pierre will also reprise his role as John Stewart/Green Lantern from Lanterns, while Lars Eidinger has been cast as Brainiac.

      The release date for Man of Tomorrow is set for July 9, 2027.
