Asghar Farhadi's latest feature, Parallel Tales, is an ideal project for its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Following his 2021 Cannes Grand Prix winner, A Hero, this new film is a French-language venture featuring Isabelle Huppert, Virginie Efira, Vincent Cassel, Pierre Niney, Adam Bessa, and India Hair, with a contribution from Catherine Deneuve. Prior to its competition premiere, French distributors Memento Films have released the first French-language trailer.
The synopsis reads: “In search of inspiration for her upcoming novel, Sylvie observes her neighbors across the street. When she employs young Adam to assist her in her daily life, she is unaware that he will dramatically alter her life and work, leading to a fiction that eclipses everyone’s reality.”
Regarding the project, Huppert recently shared, “All I can say is that I really enjoyed collaborating with him. It was truly great, and I adored my role. I play a writer in the film, which encompasses everything that entails, you know? It revolves around imagination and its power, and it's a fantastic role. I haven’t seen the film yet, but I’m very eager to.”
