Bryce Dallas Howard teams up with Aaron Paul in Curry Barker's film Anything But Ghosts.
As director Curry Barker prepares for the wide release of his feature debut, Obsession, he is already working on his next film, Anything But Ghosts. The upcoming project has just added Academy Award nominee Bryce Dallas Howard to its cast.
Howard will star alongside Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul, with Barker and Cooper Tomlinson writing the script together. Although a synopsis has not yet been released, the film is characterized as a horror-comedy.
Anything But Ghosts will be produced by Focus Features, Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Spooky Pictures, and Divide/Conquer. Barker and Tomlinson began their professional journeys by creating short films on YouTube through their company, That’s a Bad Idea. Obsession, which features Tomlinson and was both written and directed by Barker, debuted at TIFF last year and was later acquired by Focus Features for distribution. The film centers on Johnston’s character, who finds himself in over his head after using a wishing willow to make his unreciprocated crush fall deeply in love with him. Obsession is set to be released on May 15th, while there is currently no scheduled release date for Anything But Ghosts. Additionally, Barker has recently signed on to write and direct a reboot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre for A24.
