Toaplan Arcade Garage: Flying Fire Shark is set to deliver classic shoot-em-up action to PS4 and Switch this August.
Clear River Games, a publisher of retro and classic games, has announced that it will release Toaplan Arcade Garage: Flying Fire Shark on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on August 29. This collection of classic shoot-em-ups includes the iconic Shark series, which played a significant role in shaping the future of vertical-scrolling shmups. Check out the new trailer below.
The collection starts with the global arcade version of Flying Shark. This initial installment of the series was lauded for its well-balanced difficulty and straightforward gameplay. Gaining significant popularity in arcades, Flying Shark influenced future shmup games and was adapted for several home systems. Another title, Fire Shark, also achieved great success in arcades, thanks to its powerful screen-filling weaponry.
This upcoming release features a Super Easy Mode for both Flying Shark and Fire Shark, catering to newcomers to the genre. It will also offer an Arcade Mode for those desiring an authentic arcade feel.
Additional features include M2 Gadgets positioned on either side of the playing field (refer to the screenshots). These gadgets are intended to assist with blind spots and provide early alerts for new items. Furthermore, the collection includes Arcade Challenge Modes, Challenge Modes, and a Rewind function.
