Netflix’s The Ribbon Hero, inspired by Princess Knight, reveals its trailer ahead of its premiere in August.
Netflix has unveiled a poster and trailer for The Ribbon Hero, the forthcoming anime film inspired by Osamu Tezuka’s classic 1953 manga, Princess Knight.
Directed by Yuki Igarashi, this fantasy adventure centers on Sapphire, a princess from a kingdom that has vanished, as she confronts her trauma to safeguard those she cherishes and challenge her grim fate. You can watch the trailer below.
Sapphire, the princess of the now-extinct kingdom of Silverland, has lost everything to the disaster known as “Nergal.” She roams in despair until she eventually reaches Goldland. Despite the weight of her past, she begins to find a sliver of hope through the kindness of its inhabitants. However, Nergal reemerges to taunt her newfound peace. The very despair that once turned her homeland to ashes now threatens to extinguish the light in this land as well.
“I will never lose anything again. And I won’t allow anyone else to suffer a loss either.” Wiping away her tears of grief, the girl takes up her sword. This is the tale of a solitary hero who binds her ribbon and vows to resist her destiny.
The Ribbon Hero is set to premiere on Netflix on August 8th.
