David Wain Makes a Comeback in the First Trailer for Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass

      In a summer movie season that notably lacks significant comedies, David Wain and Ken Marino are stepping in to rescue audiences. Their new project, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, features a cast that includes Zoey Deutch, Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Ben Wang, Joe Lo Truglio, and Sabrina Impacciatore. With a release date of July 10 from Sony Pictures Classics, this film, selected for both Sundance and Tribeca, has just released its first trailer.

      Here's the story summary: "Gail Daughtry, a hairdresser from a small town, is set to marry her devoted high school sweetheart, Tom. However, her life changes drastically when a visit to a book signing leads to Tom meeting— and sleeping with—his ‘celebrity pass.’ Devastated by the betrayal, Gail makes a spontaneous decision to accompany her friend Otto on a trip to Los Angeles, where a psychic informs her that the only way to salvage her marriage is to ‘even the scales’ with her own celebrity pass: Jon Hamm. This marks the beginning of an adventurous quest through Hollywood as Gail and Otto team up with a talent agency assistant, a paparazzo, and actor John Slattery, all in pursuit of Hamm. Throughout their journey, they encounter celebrities and are pursued by a band of Italian assassins as they inch closer to finding the elusive star."
