      After its debut at last year's Venice Film Festival, Netflix has released a trailer for the highly praised film In the Hand of Dante, directed by Julian Schnabel and featuring an impressive cast. Adapted from Nick Tosches' 2002 novel of the same name, the film revolves around a 21st-century New York author who is enlisted by a mafia don to steal Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy, intertwining with the narrative of the 14th-century poet's creation of his iconic work.

      In the Hand of Dante tells the intertwined stories of a contemporary New York author (Nick Tosches), who is drawn into a violent adventure as he is tasked by a mafia lord to steal the poet Dante Alighieri's hand-written The Divine Comedy, while also depicting Dante in the 14th century searching for inspiration to pen his pivotal masterpiece. The two characters are connected across time through their intense pursuits of love, beauty, and the divine.

      In the Hand of Dante is set to premiere on Netflix on June 24th.
