Exclusive Trailer for Greg Vrotsos’ Feature Debut "Situations" Explores a Tale of Love and Aspiration in Los Angeles.

      Making his feature directorial debut, Greg Vrotsos (known for his roles in Twin Peaks: The Return and Orange Is the New Black) presents Situations, an unwavering drama-comedy centered on love and ambition. The film follows a Los Angeles photographer navigating through the creative turmoil of Silver Lake three months after a difficult breakup.

      After its world premiere at the Oldenburg Film Festival and U.S. premiere at The Downtown Festival in New York, Situations was picked up by Utopia’s arthouse, boutique, and self-distribution division, Circle Collective. Prior to a theatrical and event-screening tour, which will include screenings in LA this month (at Gardena Cinema this Thursday and Brain Dead on June 26), we are excited to present the exclusive first trailer.

      Vrotsos stars alongside a talented cast that includes P.J. Byrne, Melora Walters, Gino Vento, Fiona Dourif, Katie Parker, Fernanda Andrade, George Basil, Gabrielle Maiden, Augie Duke, Mia Danelle, Fox Sinclair, Jonathan Baker, Jake Szczepaniak, Nicholas Morbitt, Jhemma Ziegler, Morgan Lester, Mike Lane, Amanda Pizziconi, Benedict Samuel, and Tony Kanal.

      The synopsis reads: “Three months after a tough breakup, a photographer based in Los Angeles drifts through the creative chaos of Silver Lake—navigating well-meaning friends, career pressures, and fleeting romances—until an unforeseen connection compels him to face what he genuinely desires from love, art, and himself.”

      “Situations originated in the summer of 2021, drawing inspiration from my own return to the unpredictable dating scene in Los Angeles,” director Greg Vrotsos shared. “Like many, I once envisioned a straightforward, settled life—but LA has a knack for changing our narratives. This city, with its palm trees, stunning sunsets, and endless dreamers, served as the backdrop for a journey of self-exploration and connection. Dating here is challenging. We balance ambition and intimacy, often persuading ourselves that we are too busy or too independent for anything deeper. Yet, beneath it all, we are all searching—for love, meaning, and a sense of home. With Situations, I aimed to depict the authentic experiences of individuals navigating love and ambition in LA. It’s a film about pursuing dreams, making mistakes, and evolving in unexpected ways. My hope is that viewers will see reflections of their own stories on screen and contemplate their own ‘situations,’ whether in the past, present, or future.”
