Green Day's comedy "Nimrods" has released a new trailer in anticipation of its summer debut.
Inaugural Entertainment has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming coming-of-age comedy, *Nimrods*, which draws inspiration from the early days and music of the punk rock band Green Day. You can watch the trailer below…
*Nimrods* tells the story of a group of young adults who mistakenly think their band has been selected to open for Green Day, sparking a life-changing road trip for Tommy and his friends. The film features appearances by Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool playing themselves.
When Tommy gets a phone call inviting his band to perform as the opening act for Green Day on New Year’s Eve, he is unaware that it’s just an elaborate prank set up by his older brother, Wayne. Eager to believe his fortunes are changing, Tommy takes Wayne’s car and sets off with his band from Kansas City to Los Angeles, determined to arrive in three days. This sets off a wild and humorous road trip across America, inspired by Green Day’s early touring experiences in a van, well before their breakout album, *Dookie*, was released.
Directed and written by Lee Kirk (*Ordinary World*), *Nimrods* features a cast that includes Mason Thames, Kylr Coffman, Ryan Foust, Mckenna Grace, Sean Gunn, Fred Armisen, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Keen Ruffalo, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, Bobby Lee, and Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. Armstrong, Dirnt, and Cool are producing alongside Tim Perell of Process, Ryan Kroft, Michael Rapino of Live Nation Studios, and Jonathan Daniel.
*Nimrods* is set to premiere on August 14th, 2026.
