The Punisher to confront a zombie apocalypse in Marvel Zombies: War Zone.

      When the Fantastic Four and Earth's Mightiest Heroes fall victim to a zombie epidemic that ravages New York, it's up to The Punisher and an eclectic group of street-level heroes, including Luke Cage, Elektra, Iron Fist, and Moon Knight, to step in and save the day in the five-issue limited series Marvel Zombies: War Zone, debuting this September from writer Tom Waltz and artist Jaime Infante.

      “Having begun my writing career in the comics industry with my creator-owned military horror story, Children of the Grave, and then moving on to a lengthy period writing about mutated ninjas—while also being a devoted superhero fan—receiving the opportunity to pen a Marvel Zombies series was a thrilling chance to blend all three aspects of my professional journey,” Waltz stated. “My initial thought was to bring the popular Marvel zombie concept to the streets—and what better viewpoint to explore this than through the eyes of an old Marine like me: Frank Castle, the Punisher.”

      “I’m excited for fans to experience the darkly beautiful artwork from rising-star artist Jaime Infante as he brings this gruesome journey into New York City’s depths to life,” Waltz continued. “It’s got guns, guts, gore, ninjas, capes, and cowls—it’s all part of the package!”

      “I wish I could tell my twelve-year-old self that I’d get to draw a comic for Marvel. And the Punisher, no less!” said Infante, who is making his Marvel Comics debut with this series. “Plus, I look up to Tom Waltz, and the script he wrote allows me to explore deep shadows and intense action.”
