Pokémon and Aardman reveal Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, a stop-motion animated series.
At this week's Annecy International Animation Film Festival, The Pokémon Company and Aardman Animation officially introduced the key visual and initial details for their forthcoming stop-motion animated series, Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu.
“Aardman is thrilled to bring the vivid physicality of Stop Frame animation into the Pokémon universe,” stated Sarah Cox, Chief Creative Officer at Aardman. “Under the direction of Tom Parkinson, the team has crafted a unique take on the beloved Pokémon, featuring comedic storytelling that highlights the quirks, eccentricities, and charms of our heroes as they navigate Galar on a delightfully quirky Quest. Aardman and Pokémon are united in their dedication to creativity and talent in our mutual effort to spread joy to audiences globally.”

The official synopsis of the series states: “Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu is an epic adventure through the Galar wilderness. Our heroes embark on a courageous quest to assist and protect Pokémon throughout the region. Their endeavors often take unexpected turns, but their noble actions strengthen their bond as they boldly venture into the unknown. Exciting challenges, new friendships and rivalries, remarkable Pokémon, and endless laughter await them.”
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu is set to premiere in 2027.
