At San Diego Comic-Con, the panel for The Rings of Power unveiled a new featurette for the third season of the Lord of the Rings prequel series, titled “Bringing Season Three’s Creatures to Life.” This featurette highlights various beings such as Fell-beasts, Mûmakil, Orcs, and the Balrog, with the latter being voiced by Simon Pegg.
Season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power showcases the voice talents of Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Charlie Vickers as Sauron, Benjamin Walker as Gil-galad, Ismael Cruz Cordova as Arondir, Ben Daniels as Círdan, Owain Arthur as King Durin IV, Sophia Nomvete as Queen Disa, Daniel Weyman as Gandalf, Ciarán Hinds as the Dark Wizard, Lloyd Owen as Elendil, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Míriel, the fallen queen of Númenor, Trystan Gravelle as Pharazôn, Jamie Campbell Bower as Celeborn, Galadriel's long-lost husband, Zubin Varla as Khamûl the Easterling, Eddie Marsan as Thrain, the older brother of King Durin IV, Andrew Richardson as Anarion, Elendil’s son, Adam Young as the enigmatic Orc Marnûkh, and Simon Pegg providing the voice of the Balrog.
In Season Three, Middle-earth finds itself engulfed in war. Five years have elapsed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have swept across the globe, conquering everything in their way. Only a few isolated groups remain between the Dark Lord and absolute victory – Khazad-dûm, where the Dwarves are now entrenched within their mountain halls, and the elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell, safeguarded by their Three Rings. Meanwhile, deep within Mordor, in his newly completed tower of Barad-dûr, the Dark Lord labors incessantly, fixated on harnessing a power that will bring the last of his foes to submission: One Ring to rule them all… Now, all the free peoples of Middle-earth – Dwarves, Elves, Men, and Wizards – must find a way to unite in a race against time to thwart Sauron’s ambition of total domination over all life.
