Ted Lasso makes a comeback in the trailer for season 4.
After being brought back from its third season conclusion for another run, Apple TV’s cherished dramedy Ted Lasso is set to return next week, and the streaming service has released the official trailer for the much-anticipated fourth season.
Jason Sudeikis is back in his iconic role as Ted Lasso, a former American football coach who accepted a position in England as the new coach for AFC Richmond. Joining Sudeikis from the original series are Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift.
In the fourth season, Ted will return to Richmond to lead the new women’s team. This concept was hinted at during the final moments of Ted Lasso’s conclusion when Juno Temple’s character Keely presented her idea to Waddingham’s Rebecca. New cast members include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely. There has been no confirmation on whether any other original stars or the male football players will make a return.
In Season 4, Ted comes back to Richmond, facing his greatest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team. Throughout the season, Ted and the team learn to take risks they never imagined they'd take. The trailer shows Ted embracing this challenge, though it's clear that there will be obstacles along the way.
Ted Lasso season four premieres on August 5th.
