Black Bear has released the first trailer for Wicker, an adaptation of Ursula Wills’ acclaimed short story The Wicker Husband, directed and written by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson.
This fantasy comedy features Olivia Colman as an isolated fisherwoman who hires a local basketmaker to create her a wicker husband. However, when he turns out to be far more remarkable than anyone anticipated, jealousy arises, causing chaos in their small village.
Alongside Colman, the cast includes Alexander Skarsgård, Elizabeth Debicki, and Peter Dinklage. You can watch the trailer below.
Wicker is an audacious comedic tale that explores themes of sex, marriage, and the absurdities of societal norms. It tells the original love story of a marginalized fisherwoman (Olivia Colman) who asks the local basketmaker (Peter Dinklage) to craft a husband for her.
