Netflix's Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story reveals a first glimpse ahead of its premiere in September.

Netflix has released a poster and images for Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, the upcoming installment in Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s Monster anthology series. This chapter is the first to focus on a female 'Monster,' featuring Ella Beatty as the notorious "axe murderer" alongside Vicky Krieps as Bridget Sullivan, Rebecca Hall as Abby Borden, and Charlie Hunnam as Andrew Borden.

“I am thrilled for audiences to experience our exploration of Lizzie Borden’s story and the questions her life raises to this day,” Beatty commented about the series. “Investigating the psychology of this complex individual and examining an American crime of almost mythic proportions has been a dream come true. This season introduces our first female Monster, exploring themes of female rage and repression that I find incredibly relevant, and I can’t wait to share this with everyone.”

The cast also includes Billie Lourd, Joey Pollari, Sarah Paulson, and Jessica Barden. You can view the poster and first look images for the eight-episode season here...

When the suppressed daughter of an affluent New England family and her defiant maid find themselves ensnared in a house rife with humiliation and cruelty, they escape into a world of fantasy filled with sex, power, and revenge. The brutal unsolved murders that ensue not only horrify the public but also create an icon determined to break free from her confinement, opting instead to construct her own legend: shocking, monstrous, and magnificently liberated.

Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is set to premiere on Netflix on September 17, 2026.
