      Netflix has released a trailer for The Secret Woman, an upcoming Danish thriller series based on the novel of the same name by author Anna Ekberg.

      This Nordic noir follows Louise, a woman leading a serene life on a small island in Norway, whose world is turned upside down when a stranger claims that she is actually Helene Söderberg—a woman from Denmark who disappeared three years prior. This encounter prompts her to embark on a journey to uncover the truth about the night of her disappearance and the life she left behind.

      Directed by Barbara Topsøe-Rothenborg, the series features a cast that includes Natalie Madueño, Claes Bang, Pål Sverre Hagen, Stina Ekblad, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, and Lars Simonsen. You can watch the trailer below…

      Louise Andersen enjoys a calm life on the Norwegian island of Hidra with her partner, Joachim, where she operates a small café. Their tranquility is disrupted one summer when a stranger insists that she is not Louise, but rather Helene Söderberg, a woman who disappeared from Denmark three years ago. She learns that she is not only married, but also the mother of a young son. Determined to uncover the reality of her past, Louise leaves Joachim and her familiar life behind in search of her family and to find out what truly occurred on the night she vanished.       The Secret Woman will premiere on Netflix on August 28th.
