      With Blade’s future seemingly reset to the beginning, Marvel must make a significant decision. Should Kevin Feige focus on assembling the right creative team for the character, or should he prioritize casting a new actor above all else? If it's the latter, there are several talented performers with the charisma, physicality, and gravitas to introduce Eric Brooks into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here are five actors who could potentially become the next Blade for Marvel.

      Damson Idris

      Damson Idris has long been a fan-favorite choice for a prominent role in Marvel. There was speculation about him portraying T’Challa’s son (the late Chadwick Boseman) after a hint at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. However, with David Jonsson now set to take on that role, Blade may be an even more fitting option for Idris.

Being the youngest candidate on this list could benefit Marvel significantly.       Aldis Hodge

      Aldis Hodge has experience in superhero films, having played Hawkman in Black Adam. Should Marvel choose to move on from Mahershala Ali, Hodge would be a safe and compelling option.

      If Marvel seeks an actor who already looks as though he stepped straight from the comic book pages, Ricky Whittle merits serious consideration. With his impressive physique, athleticism, and action experience, he would easily convince audiences as the Daywalker from his very first appearance.

      Whittle is perhaps best recognized for American Gods, a series that immersed him in supernatural mythology, violent fantasy, and visually striking storytelling—elements particularly relevant considering Blade’s placement within Marvel’s darker, horror-themed sector. Having successfully navigated stories involving ancient gods, monsters, and mystical conflicts, Whittle would be well-equipped to lead another supernatural franchise.

      His casting could offer creative advantages for Marvel as well. American Gods became known for its bold visuals and atmospheric style, and incorporating that artistic sensibility into Blade could help set the film apart from other MCU projects. With the right creative team, Whittle could lead one of Marvel’s most stylish and visually ambitious endeavors.

      Trevante Rhodes

      Rhodes has also established himself as an action performer. In The Predator, he proved capable of managing demanding combat sequences while remaining charismatic and instantly relatable on screen. Each performance he delivers carries a sense of lived experience, allowing him to convey emotions with minimal dialogue.

      At 36, Rhodes strikes the right balance between youthful vitality and seasoned maturity, making him ideal for portraying a Blade who feels experienced without appearing to be at the end of his journey.
