Hammer Films is back with a poster and initial images for Ithaqua.

      After becoming part of the John Gore Organisation in 2023, the legendary British studio Hammer Films made its comeback this year by obtaining the distribution rights for Eddie Izzard's Doctor Jekyll. This month, it continues its resurgence with the FrightFest World Premiere of its first in-house production in this new chapter of Hammer Horror, titled Ithaqua.

      The film, written and directed by Casey Walker (Home Bodies), features a cast that includes Luke Hemsworth (Westworld), Kevin Durand (Ready or Not 2: Here I Come), Craig Lauzon (Trickster), Leenah Robinson (1923), and Michael Pitt (Day of the Fight).       Set against the backdrop of a harsh winter in the Canadian wilderness and the decline of the fur trade, a group of isolated residents at a remote trading post hire Cole Franklin, an American mercenary haunted by his past, to uncover the silence surrounding a neighboring Indigenous settlement. What he uncovers is a vision of unspeakable horror and an overwhelming feeling that something ancient and unnatural still resides in the wilderness.

      As fear spreads to Fort William, an unseen force starts to take control. Paranoia, hunger, and violence engulf the isolated community, pitting neighbor against neighbor as sanity gives way to chaos. With the fort descending into turmoil and survival at risk, Cole must rely on his military skills to guide a desperate group of survivors against a force that defies understanding — or escape.

      Ithaqua is set to premiere at FrightFest on August 29th, 2026, and will soon be available in UK cinemas.
