David Tennant is set to reprise his role in Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor and Rani will return in 2027 through Big Finish.

      David Tennant is set to reprise his role as the Tenth Doctor in a new series of audio adventures produced by Big Finish Productions. Launching in August 2027 and scheduled for bimonthly releases, the series begins with Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor and Rani, featuring Anjli Mohindra, known for her portrayal of Rani Chandra in the Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures.

      In the Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor and Rani trilogy, Rani Chandra embarks on her own journalism career, inspired by her friend and mentor, Sarah Jane Smith. However, her pursuit to emulate Sarah Jane takes an unexpected turn when she meets the Doctor and boards the TARDIS.

      Across the three episodes with a full cast, the Doctor and Rani will explore cryptids in Cumbria, navigate turmoil in the court of Elizabeth I, and even engage with the happenings of a 1970s sci-fi television show.

      The episodes are as follows:

      - The Hidden by Roy Gill, set for release in August 2027.

      - Empress of the Universe by Lizzie Hopley, scheduled for October 2027.

      - In Effects by John Dorney, expected in December 2027.

      Anjli Mohindra expressed her excitement, stating: “It’s always a pleasure to return to playing Rani – she was one of my earliest significant roles, so I feel a strong connection to her. It seems destined that her and the Doctor would meet. Sarah Jane held a special place in both of their hearts, and the affection they share for her creates a bond between them.”

      The Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor and Rani trilogy is now available for pre-order at £27 for the download or £39 for both the download and a limited collector’s edition of CDs.
