Netflix has greenlit a spin-off of Manifest titled Arrivals.

Three years after the supernatural mystery series Manifest came to an end, Netflix has marked 8/28 Day by unveiling the spin-off titled Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery.

Originally airing on NBC, Manifest centered on the passengers and crew of Flight 828, who encountered an unusual period of turbulence and realized upon landing that five years had inexplicably passed during the flight. The passengers grappled with the enigma of their time jump amid government suspicions, supernatural ties, and ominous warnings from the future.

Arrivals will introduce a fresh set of passengers on yet another peculiar flight, this time facing complete amnesia instead of a time jump. The logline states: “When a mysterious plane crashes in Denver, the passengers emerge with no recollection of who they are, where they came from, or why they are there. A young social worker and an inexperienced Homeland Security agent join forces with the new arrivals to avert a catastrophe that could threaten humanity, uncovering along the way that they are integral to the very mystery they are striving to unravel.”

Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery is the brainchild of Manifest creator Jeff Rake, along with co-executive producers Margaret Easley and Laura Putney. Rake, Easley, and Putney will take on roles as co-creators, showrunners, and executive producers for the spin-off.

“When the concept for Manifest first landed in my mind, I could never have imagined where it would lead. What began as a wild idea evolved into something much larger – a narrative that resonated with millions worldwide,” Rake stated. “Thanks to Netflix, we were able to conclude the journey and provide the fans with the ending they deserved. However, the universe of Manifest has more stories to tell. So, bringing fans a brand-new mystery from that world is truly beyond my wildest dreams. Co-creators and co-showrunners Laura Putney and Margaret Easley have been my trusted collaborators for over a decade. Their impact on the Manifest mothership has been immeasurable. It was an obvious choice to partner with them on this spin-off. Together, we aim to create something bold, surprising, profoundly human, and filled with the kind of significant ideas that ignite discussions long after the credits roll. We are eager for a whole new audience – as well as long-time fans of Manifest – to experience Arrivals.”

Manifest aired on NBC for three seasons but was canceled after its third season despite its popularity. Netflix intervened to rescue it from cancellation for a fourth and final season, which aired from 2018 to 2023. The series featured Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Parveen Kaur, Matt Long, Daryl Edwards, Athena Karkanis, and Jack Messina.

There is currently no information on how Arrivals will link to Manifest or if any original cast members will reprise their roles in the spin-off, so fans will need to wait to see how the new mystery unfolds.
