      Today, as his new film Just Play Dead hits theaters and becomes available on VOD/Digital, we chatted with the esteemed Martin Campbell about his lengthy, successful career. In addition to Just Play Dead, we highlighted his earlier films Criminal Law, Cast a Deadly Spell, and Beyond Borders.

      The often-overlooked filmmaker shares how he manages to get films like Just Play Dead made today, his desire to create a straight-up comedy, why his Green Lantern film fell short (spoiler alert: it was due to a script crafted “by committee” and last-minute budget cuts), and the creative freedom smaller budgets on independent projects can bring. We also touched on GoldenEye (with a final budget of just $58 million!), his cult classic No Escape, and his dislike for the actual filmmaking process, even though he enjoys editing.
