Error, 'Zoe' entre los principales ganadores en el 20º Festival Internacional de Cine Poppy Jasper

      Mistake, un drama sobre un nacimiento intersex, y Zoe, una comedia romántica sobre una mujer que recibe una oportunidad mágica para vivir tres vidas diferentes, fueron algunos de los principales ganadores en el 20º Festival Internacional de Cine Poppy Jasper.

      Mistake, escrita y dirigida por Honey Lauren, ganó el premio a mejor largometraje de drama. Zoe, escrita por Emanuela Galliussi y dirigida por Galliussi y Dean Matthew Ronalds, ganó el premio a mejor largometraje de comedia. El ganador del premio a mejor largometraje documental fue Bird of Four Hundred Voices, de James Hall.

      En sus palabras de bienvenida para el festival, la directora del festival Poppy Jasper, Mattie Scariot, recordó cuando su ciudad natal de Gilroy, uno de los anfitriones del festival, era un tranquilo pueblo agrícola con menos de 10,000 habitantes.

      Hoy, la región —ubicada entre Silicon Valley y la Bahía de Monterey— está creciendo rápidamente, y el festival está creciendo con ella. Desde que Scariot asumió el festival en 2018, se ha expandido de su hogar original, Morgan Hill, para incluir las cercanas Hollister, San Martin, San Juan Bautista y Gilroy, y ha presentado 300 largometrajes y cortometrajes de todo el mundo.
